Accepted Mediums: Painting, Drawing, Collage, Mixed Media, Digital Art, Fiber Art, Photography and Sculpture (No AI)

Alopecia is a condition that affects millions of women worldwide, yet its emotional and psychological impact often remains underrepresented in mainstream discourse. Women’s relationships with their hair are deeply intertwined with their sense of self, identity, and beauty standards. When hair loss occurs due to alopecia, it can disrupt these perceptions and lead to feelings of isolation, shame, or invisibility. However, it can also be a source of empowerment, resilience, and reinvention.

We are excited to invite women artists to submit their work for the upcoming exhibit, Rooted in Resilience: Artistic Perspectives on Alopecia in Women. This exhibition aims to showcase powerful visual narratives that explore the emotional, psychological, and physical experiences of women living with alopecia.

We seek artwork that highlights the journey of resilience, empowerment, and transformation, capturing diverse perspectives on hair loss, identity, and self-acceptance. We encourage submissions that offer a deep, personal, or creative exploration of this condition reflecting not only the pain and challenges of hair loss but also the strength, transformation, and reclamation of self that often follows.
